Miami, FL, June 1, 2026: The American Welding Society (AWS) has been recognized as a 2026 Top Workplace by the South Florida Sun Sentinel for its second year regionally, and its first as a nonprofit industry leader.
The awards are based solely on employee feedback gathered through a confidential survey conducted by Energage, which measures key aspects of workplace culture including leadership, communication, alignment, engagement, and employee connection to organizational goals.
AWS credits its employees for helping make it both a leader in the welding industry, and a workplace where people are proud to contribute every day.
“This recognition reflects the dedication and energy of our incredible staff,” said Tatiana Milan, Chief People Officer at AWS. “We’re proud of the culture we’re continuing to build together and grateful to our staff for helping shape it.”
As a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the science, technology, and application of welding and allied joining processes, AWS supports the welding community through education, certification, standards development, and workforce initiatives.
AWS also received five Top Workplaces Culture Excellence awards, recognizing organizations that have built strong, people-first workplace cultures, and distinguishing them as employers of choice within their industries. Categories include:
• Compensation & Benefits
• Employee Well-Being
• Professional Development
• Employee Appreciation
• Work-Life Flexibility
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
AWS extends its thanks to the South Florida Sun Sentinel and Energage for spotlighting organizations that prioritize strong cultures and purpose-driven work.
AWS also continues to expand its team and welcomes candidates interested in purpose-driven work to explore career opportunities at aws.org/about/work-at-aws.
