How long do I have to complete the CWI Pre-Seminar?

Participants have access to the course content 24 hours a day for 90 days from the date of registration.

Does this seminar include a completion exam?

Yes, each course within the Welding Supervisor Seminar includes an online completion exam to evaluate your comprehension of the subject matter. Most exams consist of 50 multiple-choice questions and must be completed within 90 minutes. Participants must achieve a 75% passing score and may retake the exam once if needed. Upon passing, you will earn an AWS Certificate of Completion and Professional Development Hours (PDHs) based on the course length (1 hour = 1 PDH). Certificates can be downloaded and printed directly from the webpage. Note: The completion exam for this course is NOT the AWS Certified Welding Supervisor exam. To obtain Certification, you must take the AWS Certified Welding Supervisor exam at a PROMETRIC testing site.

Do I need to purchase any other materials?

No. All necessary materials and resources are included in the seminar.

Do I receive Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for completing this course?

Yes. Participants who score 75% or above on a course completion exam will receive PDHs. The number of PDHs earned depends on the course length: Welding Fundamentals – 14 Hours, Safety in Welding – 3 Hours, Fabrication Math I – 18 Hours, Fabrication Math II – 15 Hours, Understanding Welding Symbols – 10 Hours, Economics of Welding – 18 Hours, Science of Non-Destructive Testing – 6 Hours.

Can I use these Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for recertification?

Yes. PDHs earned through AWS online courses and virtual conferences can be applied towards recertification, provided they are earned during the certification period.

Will this course help prepare me for the Certified Welding Supervisor Exam?

Yes. This course is designed to help prepare participants for the Certified Welding Supervisor exam by covering relevant topics. Does the CWS bundle replace the instructor-led CWS seminar?

No. The CWS Online Seminar is designed to help students take full advantage of the 40-hour instructor-led seminar. Live seminars are designed to review the most relevant topics. The bundle serves as comprehensive preparation, not a substitute for the in-person training experience.
Can the PDHs earned from the CWS Bundle count toward recertification?

Yes. PDHs earned through AWS online courses and virtual conferences can be applied towards recertification, provided they are earned during the certification period. Recertification requires demonstrating continued education equivalent to 80 professional development hours (PDH) over the nine-year period of certification, with 20 PDH being completed in the immediate three-year period preceding recertification.
