The January 2025 issue of the FF Journal featured a cover story on WorldSkills bronze medalists, Wyatt Hansen (2024) and Jordan Packer (2022), and showcasing the value these competitions bring to the welding industry.

Nov. 13, 2023: Goodyear High School Granted Money for Welding Classes - The AWS Foundation partnered with Miller Electric, and the Bechtel Group Foundation, to offer welding equipment kits through their “Light a Spark Grant” to high schools that do not currently offer a welding program or class.
October 18, 2023: Amplifying Apprenticeships, Welding Productivity - Joe Young moderated a panel titled "Exploring Welding Apprenticeships and Talent Development" during FABTECH 2023. The panel discussed setting up and maintaining a successful apprenticeship program, misconceptions about welding careers, using technology to generate interest, and taking pride in welding careers.
September 25, 2023: Better Together, FF Journal - When Help Wanted Ads Aren't Enough to Fill Welding Jobs, So. Dakota fabricator, Horizontal Machining and Manufacturing (HMMI), works with the Huron Drug Court to train parolees in welding to D1.1 standards.
