The AWS Poster Session is an integral part of the AWS Professional Program. Graphic displays of technical achievements are presented for close, first-hand examination in the Poster Session. Posters present welding results and related material, which are best communicated visually, as well as research results that call for close study of photomicrographs, tables, systems architecture, or other illustrative materials.
We're Looking for Robotic Welding Rock Stars
We know you're out there. Champions at following design drawings and instructions, setting up robotic cells, programming robots, defining, using and correcting welding parameters. Enter the 2018 Student Robotic Welding Competition and prove it. For bragging rights, take-aways and cash prizes.
Contests at all levels are comprehensive and consist of written, hands-on welding, code interpretation, and other test of a welder’s skills that are used everyday in the workplace. Throughout these welding contests, the pressure is on to be the best!
Each year, students from local high school and post-secondary welding programs compete in SkillsUSA competitions. A series of local, district, and state-wide contests decide which two students will represent their state at the national level. Each participating state sends its high school and post-secondary champion to the national SkillsUSA Championships held in Louisville each June.
Become a Skilled Tradeperson
The demand for most trades is strong and getting stronger. The U.S. Department of Labor forecasts healthy growth in the neighborhood of 8 to 9 percent over the next decade. Jobs associated with building and rebuilding roads, bridges, water, and the power grid are expected to grow by double-digit percentages–faster than the overall economy.
