Disrupting Postsecondary Education

Sixteen years ago, I walked into a damp and dark warehouse where I was introduced to welding education. The Nixon-era warehouse was the now-defunct Center of Industry and Technology (CIT). I also met Elaine Waters, who had been teaching welding at the school since 1986, and she wasn’t too impressed with a naïve 29-year-old who had failed at two previous corporate jobs.
