The AWS Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. It supports programs to ensure the growth and development of the welding industry through research and educational opportunities. Our industry depends upon education that prepares the next generation to meet the challenges ahead.

Support Our Mission
Every year, the AWS Foundation awards more than $1,000,000 to students and industry professionals who want to pursue their aspirations. The AWS Foundation’s scholarship program would not be possible without the donations it receives every year. The AWS Foundation is also seeking support to recruit the next generation of welding professionals. Your generous contribution is sure to help ensure the growth and strength of the welding industry for years to come!

The scholarships offered through the AWS Foundation allow students and professionals to focus on earning a quality education that will last a lifetime. With hundreds of scholarships to apply for, applicants will have the opportunity to fund their education, and get one step closer to achieving their academic goals.

Welding Workforce Grant
The AWS Foundation is committed to supporting schools and educational institutions that are training the next generation of welders. Grants up to $25,000 are available to improve and expand facilities to increase the number of welding graduates. This year the AWS Foundation will award up to $300,000 to programs across the country.

AWS Careers in Welding Trailer
Since its first year in 2011, the AWS Careers in Welding Trailer has sparked people’s interest about the welding industry. This 53-foot mobile welding exhibit provides visitors with a memorable interactive experience. From the virtual welders to the art sculptures and welding coupons, the trailer’s many exhibits are sure to entice people to learn more about the welding industry and its impact on our world.

Career Resources
The AWS Foundation’s DVDs, magazines and other materials help to promote the industry’s growth and stability. Our resources provide essential information about career development to students, teachers, and professionals. If you want to learn more about why welding is an in-demand career, these resources are a great place to start.

D. Fred Bovie Library and Museum
The D. Fred Bovie Library and Museum is the American Welding Society’s premiere location for welding history and memorabilia. The library’s shelves and counter tops are lined with books and artifacts that date back as early as 1919. With so many items in this collection, it’s obvious that the welding industry has a significant impact on our country and the world.
