Diversity & Inclusion

AWS Promotes Diversity

AWS values diversity, advocates equitable and inclusive practices, and engages its members and stakeholders in establishing a culture in the welding community that welcomes, learns from, and celebrates differences among people. AWS recognizes that a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential to achieving excellence for the Association, its members, and employees.

Quote of the Month

Diversity in the world is a basic characteristic of human society, and also the key condition for a lively and dynamic world as we see it today. – Jintao Ha

As volunteers we often feel overwhelmed. We are not sure how to reach out to our Section Membership, and encourage participation. One great thing about our membership is we are a diverse group. We are welders, engineers, artists, educators, inspectors, sales, shop owners, and many more occupations. Each individual has so much to offer. Reach out and invite participation.
AWS District 20 Director and Chair of the AWS Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Pierrette Gorman
