The AWS Foundation, in partnership with Bechtel Group Foundation, is proud to offer a complimentary Certified Welding Educator Seminar for up to 40 welding instructors.

 

This is a unique opportunity to take your welding knowledge and instructional skills to the next-level. The Certified Welding Educator credential is a nationally recognized certification that will validate your proficiency at teaching welding principles, safety procedures, and hands-on techniques, while enhancing the reputation of your school’s welding program.

Date: August 11-17, 2024 

Location: Bechtel Welding & Applied Technology Center – 7208 Harms Rd, Houston, TX 77041

Included:

  • Certified Welding Educator (CWE) Seminar & Instructional Strategies for Welding Educators Workshop
  • CWE Part A & B Exam Fee
  • Lodging for seven (7) nights
  • Daily transportation to and from training site
  • Breakfast (at hotel) and lunch daily
  • Two group dinners

Not included:

  • Travel to Houston, TX
  • Transportation to and from airport
  • Dinners (excluding two group dinners)
  • Part C Course or Exam for CWI Certification

Part B Exam will be held August 17.
Attendees will schedule the Part A Exam at a Prometric Testing site. A passing score of at least 60% is needed on Parts A and B to be awarded the CWE credential.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Meet the minimum requirements to become a Certified Welding Educator
  • Be an AWS Member
  • Preference will be given to instructors at schools that are:
    • AWS Educational Institution Members
    • AWS SENSE Program participants
    • In geographic areas of high need for welders

Applications will be evaluated as they are received, and selections will be made continuously until all spots are filled. The sooner you apply, the sooner you could be selected.
Applications will be accepted through May 31, 2024 or until all slots are filled.
