D10 Summary of Committee Responsibilities
The scope of the D10 Committee is the formulation of safe, sound, and progressive practices in the welding of piping and tubing for all applications.  The Committee will bring together the representatives of interests active in this field for a mutual interchange of information, the stimulation of new activities, and for the widest possible dissemination of existing welding knowledge.

Congratulations to Committee Members Alan S. Beckett (left), Alyeska Pipeline Service Company and William A. Bruce (right), Edison Welding Institute for winning the 2005 A. F. Davis Silver Medal Award.  The Award was presented at the AWS Welding Show in Dallas, TX on April 26, 2005.  This award is endowed by the late A.F. Davis, former Vice President and Secretary of The Lincoln Electric Company and is awarded to the authors of papers published in the Welding Journal during the previous calendar year that represent the best contributions to the progress of welding in the categories of machine design,  maintenance and surfacing, and structural design.
