Technical - AWS Technical Committees
Over 1,400 professionals currently serving on more than 200 technical committees, dedicated to the development of consensus standards under the rules of ANSI. Accredited by ANSI to publish American National Standards on welding, AWS administrates the USA technical advisory groups (TAGs) to ISO/TC44, Welding and allied processes, and most of the ISO/TC44 subcommittees, as well as being the Authorized National Body (ANB) to the International Institute of Welding (IIW). AWS also holds the secretariats of three ISO/TC44 subcommittees and one working group.
Be part of this influence on national and international standards by supporting participation on an AWS committee or TAG, or by enlisting in the AWS-sponsored American Council of IIW.
WEMCO - Welding Equipment Manufacturer's Committee

IIW - International Institute of Welding
The IIW was founded in 1948 by the welding institutes or societies in 13 countries to promote international collaboration in welding. With 43 member countries, the objectives of the organization are:
to promote the development of welding and to provide for the exchange of scientific and technical information on welding research and education.
to assist in the formulation of international standards for welding.
to promote the organization of national welding associations.
PACWI - Pan American Coalition of Welding Institutes
Sharing technology, experience and cooperation, PACWI is working to standardize the practice of welding and joining using AWS Standards throughout the hemisphere.

Seeking to expand, guide and standardize the practice of welding and joining through collectively addressing common issues. POCWA consists of 15 organizations representing 11 countries.

RWMA - Resistance Welding Manufacturing Alliance
develops equipment standards for the protection and benefit of buyers and users of resistance welding equipment and accessories. Resistance Welding Manufacturing Alliance encourages the highest standards of ethics in the resistance welding industry. We support this effort by sponsoring and participating in programs and conferences that foster the adoption of best practices, leading to increased efficiency of resistance welding processes.
