B. Howell Memorial Scholarship
The William B. Howell Memorial Scholarship honors an individual who spent his entire professional career actively participating in and promoting the welding industry. Mr. Howell was a member of the American Welding Society for fifty years. William B. Howell retired from Hobart Brothers Company as Executive Vice President after 44 years of service. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Hobart Brothers Company and the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology. Mr. Howell was a graduate of The Ohio State University and was active in a broad range of community-related activities. William B. Howell would be very pleased to support the American Welding Society's education initiative through his scholarship. Mr. Howell believed in helping people who were willing to help themselves. The award will be presented to individuals nationwide. Applicant does not have to be a member of the American Welding Society. The AWS Foundation does not discriminate by age, race, color, national origin, disability, creed, or gender. Selection Selection committee will determine award recipient in February of each year. Recipient will be announced at the National Awards Luncheon Awards No awards will be paid directly to the recipient. All awards will be paid directly to the academic institution by the AWS Foundation. Deadline |
