The cooperation of companies, associations, organizations and individuals is paramount to the success of the materials joining industry at home and abroad. AWS values this cooperation and participation and is pleased to make the following Call For Papers.

November 11-14, 2007
Chicago, IL
DEADLINE: March 30, 2007 

The Professional Program produced by the American Welding Society will be an important part of the 2007 FABTECH International & AWS Welding Show and you are urged to be a part of this program by submitting an abstract for a paper to be presented there.  Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the AWS Technical Papers Committee and e-responses will be issued to authors.

Submissions should fall in one of the following three categories and abstracts will be accepted only in a specific format.  Individuals interested in participating should contact Martica Ventura, Manager, Conferences & Seminars, via email for specific details. 
The deadline for submission of abstracts is Friday, March 30, 2007.

Technical/Research Oriented
  • New science or research.
  • Selection based on technical merit.
  • Emphasis is on previously unpublished work in science or engineering relevant to welding, joining and allied processes.
  • Preference will be given to submittals with clearly communicated benefit to the welding industry.

Applied Technologies

  • New or unique applications.
  • Selection based on technical merit
  • Emphasis is on previously unpublished work that applies known principles of joining science or engineering in unique ways.
  • Preference will be given to submittals with clearly communicated benefit to the welding industry.

Education

  • Welding education at all levels.
  • Emphasis is on education/training methods and their successes.
  • Papers should address overall relevance to the welding industry.
