American Welding Society - Awards Programs

The AWS Awards are designed to recognize men and women in the industrial, education and research communities who have made distinctive contributions to advance the science, technology and application of welding and allied processes, including joining, brazing and soldering, cutting and thermal spraying.


Lecture Award Category

Comfort A. Adams Lecture Award:
The nominee is selected 16 months in advance of the AWS Welding Show. In conjunction with the AWS Welding Show, the individual presents their lecture after the Annual Business meeting. Nominee packet may be submitted for consideration to the AWS Awards Committee and must include an introduction letter of support and a complete resume or CV of the individualís qualifications.

Plummer Memorial Education Lecture Award:
The nominee is selected at least 12 months in advance of the AWS Welding Show and would present their lecture during show week. Nominee packets may be submitted for consideration to the AWS Education Committee and must include an introduction letter of support and a complete resume or CV of the individualís qualifications.
