Experts Needed
for Revision of Two
Standards
AWS is seeking shipbuilding
professionals to serve as volunteers on two Marine Welding
Committees. The D3A Committee will soon begin reviewing the
recently published D3.7 Guide for Aluminum Hull Welding and the D3C
Committee has initiated a complete review of D3.5 Guide for Steel Hull
Welding. Topics for review include design, cutting and welding
processes/equipment, qualification, construction practices, and
inspection. AWS is looking for experts representing designers,
builders, owners and regulatory bodies.
Both Committees intend to confer through virtual meetings, teleconferences and e-mail. Physical meetings are held in conjunction with the NSRP ASE Welding Technology Panel meetings twice per year. If you would like to help write either of these two American National Standards, please fill out and submit our on-line membership application.
