This year we our continuing to work toward our vision
of supporting students seeking a welding education so that the Fox
Valley has enough professional welders to meet its needs.
In the
last few of years, over $3000 was awarded to welding students, two of
which are now
working in the valley! AWS
scholorships are
available for students in welding. Fox Valley scholarship
application
deadlines will be arranged so that applications can be made for
both
the fall and winter college schedules. Also, a scholarship application
form is available on-line. Please refer to our scholarship
page for new updates and developments.
The Fox ValleySection
074 is renewing its vow to commit to helping welding students get their
education. The section is awarding two $500 scholarships in conjunction
with Fox Valley Technical College, and a $1000 scholarship or a split
into multiple scholarships equaling $1000. The number of
scholarships, monetary amounts and qualifications
will be decided upon by the Section Officers. If you are
interested in donating
to this fund, please contact any of the AWS officers listed in the
"Officers"
section of this web site, or watch your mailings for a donation form (click
here for a remittance form). As we all know, highly skilled
individuals
are in great demand in the welding industry. Our goal is to assist
those
students who show the potential of becoming a welding professional and
have an interest in joining our industry. Please contact Sean
Moran sean.moran@hobartbrothers.com
