THE RWMA - A History of Promoting the Resistance Welding Process
The Resistance Welder Manufacturers Association was established in 1935 by industry-leading companies that were interested in advancing the science and application of the resistance welding process. Many premier organizations continue to support this effort today through the RWMA Committee of the American Welding Society (AWS).
As a result of RWMA joining AWS as a standing committee in June 2005, two great organizations have pooled their resources and experience.  Thus, the RWMA Committee is positioned to become the global resource for the resistance welding process. While focused on the original mission, the committee is also seeking new ways to realize real benefits for its member organizations. From what we have seen so far, both are achievable and much more is possible.

Many organizations can benefit from learning why resistance welding continues to be one of the most efficient methods of joining metals. Companies that have engaged in supporting this effort will also benefit in a number of ways. The key is to get started.
