THE RWMA - A History ofPromoting the Resistance Welding Process
The Resistance Welder Manufacturers Association was established in 1935by industry-leading companies that were interested in advancing thescience and application of the resistance welding process. Many premierorganizations continue to support this effort today through the RWMACommittee of the American Welding Society (AWS).
As a result of RWMA joining AWS as a standing committee in June 2005,two great organizations have pooled their resources andexperience.  Thus, the RWMA Committee is positioned to become theglobal resource for the resistance welding process. While focused onthe original mission, the committee is also seeking new ways to realizereal benefits for its member organizations. From what we have seen sofar, both are achievable and much more is possible.

Many organizations can benefit from learning why resistance weldingcontinues to be one of the most efficient methods of joining metals.Companies that have engaged in supporting this effort will also benefitin a number of ways. The key is to get started.
