Papers are Sought for American Welding Society's 2006 Professional Program

MIAMI - December 22, 2005 - The American Welding Society's Technical Papers Committee has issued a call for papers for the Professional Program at the 2006 FABTECH International & AWS Welding Show, scheduled for October 31-November 2 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Professional Program will include presentations on topics of interest to welding practitioners and managers, researchers, and advanced students. Papers are sought in three categories:

-- Technical/Research Oriented, involving new science or engineering relevant to welding, joining, and allied processes.

-- Applied Technology, involving new or unique applications of known principles of joining science or engineering.

-- Welding Education, involving successful education and training methods at all levels that are relevant to the welding industry.

Papers may be process-oriented or materials-oriented, and may include modeling of welding processes. Preference will be given to papers with clearly communicated benefit to the welding industry.

Abstracts may be submitted using the form enclosed in the AWS Welding Journal or the online form located at www.aws.org/w/s/survey/standard.html?survey_start=abstractsubmittal.
