Welding Inspector
A Certified Welding Inspector has the technical proficiency to
determine if a weldment meets the acceptance criteria of a specific
code, other type of standard or a contractual document. A CWI
must be thoroughly familiar with welding processes, welding procedures,
welder qualifications, materials, and limitations of weld
testing. This professional must be able to read drawings, prepare
and keep records, prepare and make reports, and make responsible
judgments. The highest technical requirements and ethical
principles must be consistently followed for a welding inspector to be
effective. AWS provides practical, to-the-point preparation for
your employees qualified to sit for the CWI Exam – and it can be
conducted right at your facility.
Certified
Welding
Educator
As a Certified Welding Educator, one can simplify training
requirements, prepare instruction plans, conduct training classes using
prepared instructional, and evaluate student performance. In
addition, a CWE can also conduct both technical and skilled welding
classes. A CWE must be thoroughly familiar with welding
processes, welding procedures, welder qualifications, materials, the
limitations of welding testing, and be able to read drawings, prepare
and keep records, and prepare and make reports. AWS offers an
outstanding CWE Prep Course, and a package that includes the CWE exam.
A minimum of 10 participants is required. Contact the Education

Qualifications
for
CWI and CWE
The CWI and CWE are coveted designations and widely recognized
benchmarks of achievement. Certain qualifications are required
before one can take the CWI and CWE Exams.
