Certification

More than 35,000 welding inspectors worldwide are certified by AWS. In China, a qualified candidate can take an exam for become an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) by taking an examination from an AWS-authorized agency. The examination is given in three parts. There is a written test in welding fundamentals, a practical exam utilizing inspection tools to work with weld specimens, and an open-book written exam on applying your choice of seven welding code books.
