Mission and Goals POCWA is an alliance of educational, professional and scientific organizations representing nations bordering the Pacific Ocean. Its members are committed to progress through the uniform promotion and development of materials joining technology. The organization's primary mission is to promote unity and cooperation in all phases of the industry. Its paramount goal is to expand, guide and standardize the practice of welding and joining throughout the region using AWS Codes & Standards. The coalition consists of 15 organizations representing 11 countries. Each country is an equal partner in coalition. Member organizations of POCWA work collectively to advance the industry by addressing issues of common interest. Through this interaction, the group sponsors annual conferences aimed at unifying welding codes used throughout the region and shares market, product and technology information to benefit manufacturers, sellers and buyers.
